When Code Power first started business, we were a group of engineers with a deep love for gaming and years of experience working in the gaming industry. Our goal? Evolving our people-first approach
The gaming spirit was embedded in our DNA but we needed to operationalize our people-first approach to empower our company. That’s when Agile came in. Using the twelve principles of the Agile Manifesto as a foundation, we came up with our own processes, including a comprehensive software development methodology that balances flexibility for our teams, autonomy and continuous improvement for our engineers, and total commitment to our clients’ success.
Aside from organizing our work through agile, an essential part of that operationalization was adopting a remote mindset. Given that we don’t hire by the numbers, erasing the frontiers from our recruitment allowed us to search for the best talent wherever it might be. And we found out that Latin America was the perfect place to locate that talent.
The region had several advantages: highly-skilled experts, timezone and cultural alignment with the U.S., and in-depth experience with outsourcing. More importantly, Latin Americans had a distinct blend of resilience and wit to adapt to changing circumstances and overcoming even the harshest of challenges.
